Tim Allen Drops Reminder About ‘Life’s Most Persistent and Urgent Question’ in New Post

On Wednesday (July 14th), Tim Allen took to his Twitter account to share a special quote from Martin Luther King that asks “life’s most persistent and urgent question.”

“‘What are you doing for others?’ Martin Luther King Jr.  What a reminder this is for me,” Allen writes in his latest tweet.

Tim Allen’s Twitter followers respond to the tweet, with one follower stating, “You gave us buzz lightyear. Legendary character that I will carry with me until the grave. Not to mention Tim the tool man Taylor, the dad everyone wished they had. Thanks, Tim.”

Another one of Tim Allen’s follower’s further comments, “You have the gift of bringing joy and laughter…something desperately needed!”

Tim Allen’s ‘Last Man Standing’ Scores 2021 Emmy Nomination 

Tim Allen’s Last Man Standing recently scored a 2021 Emmy Nomination for Outstanding Cinematography For a Multi-Camera Series. The show premiered its series finale in May 2021. 

Tim’s hit series has won various awards throughout the years, including TV’s Guide Magazine’s Fan Favorite Award for Favorite Comeback in 2012, ASCAP Film and Television Music Awards in 2014 and 2015 for Top Television Series. The show was also nominated for the 68th and 69th Creative Arts Emma Awards for Outstanding Multi-Camera Picture Editing for a Comedy Series. 

Last Man Standing was canceled in 2017 after six seasons. Fox then revived the show and its seventh season premiered in September of 2018. It ran on Fox for its seventh through ninth seasons.

Tim Talks ‘Last Man Standing’ Cancellation

In a recent interview with USA Today, Tim Allen reveals his thoughts about why Last Man Standing was canceled. “For those of us that love what we were doing, on the surface, it makes no sense,” Allen says in regards to the show’s second cancellation. While answering his own question of why not keep the show going, Allen says his only guess that it’s about finances. 

“Eventually, it’s a zero-sum game as shows get older and costs get higher,” Tim Allen states. He then remarks that he is grateful and humbled that he and the rest of the cast and crew had nines years on the Last Man Standing set. “At the same time, I’m supposed to be grateful for this feeling of tremendous loss?”

Tim Allen starred on Last Man Standing alongside Nancy Travis, Kaitlyn Dever, Hector Elizondo, and Christoph Sanders. Tim discusses the castmates’ appearing on the series finale. He remarked that Dever, who appeared on the episode in an online chat, that she really wanted to be on the set.

In regards to the episode itself, Allen says, “It was really hard to get through. Hector said, ‘I often say, don’t get attached.’ And he meant all his life doing theater, movies, you just don’t get attached.” He then adds that Hector stated he made a mistake with Last Man Standing. “And he was right.”
