Al Roker usually is the Today host who wishes happy birthday to special viewers. This time, Hoda Kotb had the honors.
After all, someone has to wish the ultimate birthday wisher a special day. Roker turned 67, Friday.
Hoda Kotb used her Instagram to offer her best wishes to Roker and his 67th trip around the sun. She showed off a photo of herself with Roker, her daughter, who was then a baby, and her mother, Sami.
She captioned it: “Happy bday to the man who is part of our family. Love u Al Roker.”
Hoda Kotb Admitted She Drunk Dialed Thomas Rhett
Hoda Kotb and her Today show co-anchor, Jenna Bush Hager, launched their Tik Tok account earlier this year. So they’re trying to become more social media-friendly. And on Tik Tok, they both shared some confessions. Kotb told a funny story involving one of her favorite country music stars.
Kotb really likes Thomas Rhett, so much so that she drunk-dialed him.
“I love getting a new song from Thomas Rhett until I start singing it and drunk dial him,” Hoda Kotb said in the TikTok. She also tagged Rhett in the caption that also read: “It’s the facial expressions for us. @thomasrhett” (where you at).
Rhett answered “Hahah!! Call us anytime!”
Hoda Kobt told People that Rhett wasn’t the only high-profile performer she’ll call if she’s had a few cocktails.
“These are my go-to drunk dials: Zac Brown, Kelly Clarkson … and the last one, and he doesn’t even pick up anymore, Thomas Rhett,” she told People.
Hoda Celebrated Her Own Birthday This Month
And Hoda also celebrated her own birthday earlier this month when she turned 57. She did so with a small gathering of family, including young daughters, Hope Catherine and Haley Joy. Her mother, fiance, brother and sister, as well as her two nieces also helped her celebrate the day. She’s also talked about adding to her family. Hoda waited until her 50s to adopt her two daughters. Maybe she’ll be blessed with more.
“I thought it would be a different game,” she said. “No, they said a lot of people who maybe normally would feel like it would be something they wanted to do, have a child and give it to someone to raise because they couldn’t, are holding onto things because they don’t have anything in that moment.
“That’s what I’ve heard from our agency, everything’s slow. But they say wait wisely and just be, so we’re just gonna be,” she added.
So, for Al Roker, it’s an honor to be included in the Hoda Kotb family.
