A source told The Sun specifics about Cruise’s movie preparations. The plane in question is nicknamed The Widowmaker and will be used in the next Mission: Impossible’s stunt scenes. The source also stated Cruise had started learning to fly a Boeing Stearman biplane earlier this year. “It’s obviously a highly skilled task,” the source states. “But as usual he has no plans to cut any corners or bring in a stuntman.”
Being recently spotted in the plane at Cambridge’s Duxford Airfield during a training session, Cruise is going all out, the source states. “Filming has only just wrapped on Mission: Impossible 7 but Tom has not given himself a break. And trying to film jaw-dropping scenes with an 80-year-old plane is particularly dangerous.”
Though it is in fact dangerous, Cruise training like this should come as no surprise to many people. For reference, in earlier Mission: Impossible films, he did things like hanging off a cargo plane during its takeoff. He also scaled the world’s tallest building, Dubai’s Burj Khalifa.
Overall, if this report is any indicator, the 7th Mission: Impossible should be interesting. Set to debut in theaters on September 30, 2022, it will also be available to stream on Paramount+ 45 days later.
While Filming ‘Mission: Impossible 7,’ Tom Cruise’s Bodyguard Has BMW Stolen
It appears Tom Cruise isn’t the only one attempting Mission: Impossible stunts lately. A few months ago, one of his bodyguards reportedly had his BMW stolen.
The Express talked about the incident, stating it occurred in Birmingham while working on the movie. Cruise apparently lost luggage he stowed in the car, valued at several thousand dollars. The vehicle itself is valued at over six figures. The BMW X7 remained outside the Grand Hotel when the theft occurred. Local police report the culprit(s) in question used technology that allowed them to scan the keyless ignition code, then the car took off.
However, the vehicle did not get very far. The BMW possessed a tracking device, making it relatively easy to find and recover. Unfortunately, authorities haven’t located the missing luggage. A source spoke to The Sun, saying “It’s a huge embarrassment for the security team and the guy who had been driving it was hopping mad — but not as mad as Tom!”
All things considered, it could have been much worse. Cruise didn’t report having anything invaluable or particularly noteworthy to him within the luggage. Nonetheless, the irony must be infuriating considering the thieving method is something you might see in his latest movie.
