Trace Adkins is throwing it back to his performance of “Just Fishin'”at the 2012 Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.
Trace Adkins Takes Us Back to the Good Ole’ Days
Trace Adkins is celebrating this year’s Thanksgiving by posting a still photo from his performance at the 86th Annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, which before COVID-19, was just that, a parade.
Hundreds of performances were viewed by thousands throughout the streets of New York, and millions tuned in through TV sets across the country to watch the holiday tradition.
This year’s Thanksgiving has been a little different, to say the least, but artists still found a way to bring smiles to the faces of those tuning in, albeit via live stream with no physical parade.
Trace is taking us back to the simpler times by posting the photo on Instagram. He went a step further by posting a video of the entire 86th Annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, including his performance, to Facebook.
He captions his Facebook post with:
“Wishing everyone a very happy Thanksgiving! #TBT Throwback to the 2012 Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade when Trace performed “Just Fishin.'”
Celebrating Thanksgiving Traditions with Family
In an interview with WXPI radio prior to the parade in 2012, Adkins gave information on what to expect.
“I’m just doing 90 seconds of ‘Just Fishin’,” said Trace.
He was sure to make the opportunity one for the entire family.
“I’ll have my 7-year-old daughter who was in that video with me. She’ll be on the float with me so [it’s] kind of recreating that moment,” he said. “So I’m looking forward to it.”
When asked about the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade and what it means to him, Trace said something we’re all thinking this year.
“The Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade is an iconic tradition. We’ve all grown up watching it,” said Adkins.
He added, “Any time I have an opportunity to do something like this and include my children that’s pretty much a no-brainer for me. I want them to have those memories.”
On this Thanksgiving, Trace’s children are probably thankful for those memories now more than ever.
