Vin Diesel Teases He’s Getting Pumped for ‘Fast & Furious’ Sequel With Shirtless Photo

So, listen. We don’t have any updates regarding Vin Diesel’s pleas for Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson to hop back aboard the “Fast & Furious” train just yet. What we do have, though, is a steamy update just “months away from embarking on the final journey” from the main man himself.

Vin Diesel took to Instagram to share a shirtless snap with his over 76 million followers, teasing a step closer to the upcoming “Fast & Furious” sequel(s). I say “sequel(s)” because the 10th and 11th installments will ultimately be two separate movies but function as chapters of the same story.

Before we dive into that though, feast your eyes on Vin Diesel’s impressive physique. Or maybe his pecs. His shoulders? Look, I’m not entirely sure where we’re supposed to look here. The comments are a tad split, too, with half of the fans remarking how impressed they are and the others keeping the “family” meme alive.

The ‘Fast & Furious’ Director Stands By His Decision to Split the Finale Into Two Separate Films

So, Vin Diesel’s Instagram post serves as confirmation that “Fast & Furious 10” is set to begin filming in January of 2022, which is a lot closer than it may seem. This means that the actual film would then hit theaters sometime in the Spring of 2023, the following year. As for now, the anticipated release date remains in April of 2023.

Based on previous interviews, we also know that there will eventually be a “Fast & Furious 11” at some point. However, this will essentially scaffold off of whatever plot comes from the 10th installment. Unfortunately, we don’t have much else in terms of storylines at the moment. We just know that they’re debating filming the two installments back-to-back.

And the decision to split the finale is not a new idea. We’ve seen countless franchises do the same in the past (Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, for example). And Director Justin Lin is sticking to his guns on this one. He tells Collider:

“The idea of the last chapter being two films is correct. I have to say, I’m so glad — because I think when I first entered this franchise, a sequel was not a given. You had to earn it, you know? And so to be sitting here talking to you and go, ‘Oh yeah, there’s gonna be two more movies!’ I’m like, ‘Wow.’ It means a lot. So, every day when I wake up, I’m trying to reconfigure and make sure hopefully whatever we’re talking about process-wise is gonna yield the best result. But I think having one chapter in two movies is correct. That’s where I sit today.”
