“Proof that Brendan Fraser is the purest of souls!” With a “shucks, ma’am!” true Outsider Brendan Fraser is beyond-grateful for the fan support of his latest role.
Martin Scorsese’s next film, Killers of the Flower Moon, is going to be something special. Scorsese delivers, this we know, but casting one-time go-to action star Brendan Fraser as a lead in the film is a stroke of genius.
It’s no secret that Fraser has had his ins and outs with Hollywood. Yet it was never a fan-driven decision to see the actor fall from the spotlight. Far from it. In fact, people absolutely adore the man to this day. And now we know the feeling is mutual.
“Seeing Brendan Fraser get choked up after being told that everyone online is behind him and excited for his new project I’m [crying]!” posts Find the Afterlife to Twitter this week. Within, the account showcases a terrific sit-down with the actor as one TikTok media host lets him know just how much support the internet is heaping behind him for his latest A-List venture.
“I’m going to work with Scorsese, and Leo! And Bob DeNiro!” Fraser reveals without a hint of hubris. He looks and sounds as excited as a gent can be. “I think I might be sick. A little anxious,” he says, tongue-in-cheek. “It’s going to be fun!”
To Brendan Fraser: ‘The Internet is So Behind You’
It’s because of this that TikTok media mogul @LittleOttieCosplay gives Fraser the biggest of “congratulations!”
“Just know that the internet is so behind you. We’re so supportive, there’s so many people out there who love you and we’re rooting for you!” Ottie tells the actor. “We can’t wait to see what you do next!”
it is here that the one and only Brendan Fraser chokes up. With tears visible in his eyes, the star takes a swig of his (what we’re assuming/hoping is a well-earned scotch) and smiles wide.
“Shucks, ma’am!” he replies, his smile widening. Couldn’t happen to a better guy!
Killers of the Flower Moon will center around members of the Osage tribe in the United States who are murdered under mysterious circumstances in the 1920s. The period piece will see such murders spark a major F.B.I. investigation involving J. Edgar Hoover.
The film is based on the book by American journalist David Grann. Its full title is Killers of the Flower Moon: The Osage Murders and the Birth of the FBI. It is the third non-fiction release from Grann, and has long been rumored for a film adaptation. Thanks to Scorsese and DiCaprio, this is now the case.
Color us Outsiders beyond excited to see what Brendan Fraser delivers within as W.S. Hamilton.
