Bruce Springsteen and The E Street Band performs new song, “Ghosts” on Saturday Night Live.

Springsteen took to the stage on Saturday night alongside the E Street Band and proved that, at 71, he’s still “got it.” Springsteen performed “Ghosts” from his new albumLetter to You, and fans went wild.

Undoubtedly, Springsteen rocked it on Saturday night. However, this isn’t the first time Bruce Springsteen has appeared on SNL. He performed for the first time in 1992 with host Tom Hanks. Springsteen returned in 2002 with host Matt Damon, and again in 2015 with Tina Fey and Amy Poehler as hosts.

Bruce Springsteen’s New Album Was Finished In 5 Days

During an interview with Rolling Stone, Springsteen said that he and The E Street Band recorded the album in five days.

Steve Van Zandt, the band’s guitarist, said “We were doing a song every three hours. We basically cut the album in four days. We booked five days and on the fifth day, we had nothin’ to do, so we just listened to it.”

Bruce Springsteen says that many of the songs were created with a guitar he received from a fan after a show in Italy.

“I said, ‘Geez, you know, thanks,’ ” Springsteen said. “And I just took a quick glance at it and it looked like a nice guitar, so I jumped in the car with it.” The guitar stayed in his living room for a few months before Springsteen picked it up and started playing.

“All the songs from the album came out of it,” Bruce Springsteen said. “In perhaps less than 10 days. I just wandered around the house in different rooms, and I wrote a song each day. I wrote a song in the bedroom, I wrote a song in our bar, I wrote a song in the living room.”
