Candace Cameron Bure was stunned when she learned she had some acting credits with Academy Award winner Denzel Washington.
Kit Hoover and Scott Evans, who host “Access Daily,” actually found a scene of Cameron Bure and Washington, together. They presented the clips to Cameron Bure when she appeared on the show.
“I’ve never even see this clip before,” Cameron Bure marveled as it popped up on her screen.
The actress was six when she earned a reoccurring role on St. Elsewhere, a show that ran from 1982-88. She played Meagan, the daughter of Dr. Peter White (Terence Knox). The show’s title referred to the nickname of St. Eligius, a teaching hospital in Boston.
From the clip of one of the scenes, it appears Washington, who played Dr. Phillip Chandler, treated her for some medical malady.
“I was crying in that audition, I was so scared,” Cameron Bure said. “Somehow got the part. I went back and I was on several episodes with Denzel.
“I’m like wait. Wait. I had no idea I even acted with Denzel until a few years ago.”
Washington’s first breakout role was playing Dr. Chandler. But television was too small of a medium for him. In 1990, he won an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for his part in the movie “Glory.” In 2002, Washington earned the Academy Award for Best Actor for “Training Day.” He was nominated six other times.
Cameron Bure Found Fame on Full House and Hallmark Movies
Candace Cameron Bure found her fame playing D.J. in Full House, which played from 1987 to 1995. In 2016, Netflix revived the show and called it “Fuller House.”
She also made a big career making romantic movies for the Hallmark Channel.
Cameron Bure currently is on a publicity tour for the movie “If I Only Had Christmas.” It’s her ninth Christmas-themed movie for Hallmark.
On Friday, she was giving interviews from her family’s wine cellar. Her husband is in the wine business.
