Fleetwood Mac’s alum Lindsey Buckingham experienced a lot of highs and lows in both his personal and professional life over the last handful of decades. The star concerned fans worldwide when he underwent emergency open-heart surgery in 2019. Fast forward to June of this year, and Buckingham made headlines again for a sad story: the end of his marriage with Kristen Messner.

Fleetwood Mac’s potential reunion as a whole drew in a lot of controversy, but Lindsey’s return specifically sparked some heavily charged reactions and opinions. Fans surely yearned for his highly anticipated return to the stage. However, given his health issues in the past, fans were not sure if it would ever happen. In a positive turn of events, Lindsey Buckingham is back to making the stage his own.

The Performance

Fleetwood Mac boasts a very tumultuous past as a band. Although the band name and brand remained constant since its birth in 1967, members remained anything but such. With too many past band members to list, the only constant for the team has been change.

This means the past is rife with drunken arguments, touring disagreements, and break-ups. On the flip side of that, there are also several reunions etched into their history. Lindsey Buckingham’s possible reunion with the band since his 2018 departure elicited some pretty powerful reactions from past band members. Mick Fleetwood supported Lindsey’s return. Stevie Nicks, on the other hand, reportedly did not approve and even went so far as to try to block the return. In the meantime, Lindsey Buckingham stays doing his own thing and going his own way.

Lindsey’s tour kicked off last night at the Mystic Lake Casino Hotel in Prior Lake, Minnesota. The powerful performance marks his first live performance since undergoing open-heart surgery back in 2019. Recently adding European dates as well, the tour is a lengthy one. The tour spans 40 cities in multiple countries with dates as far out as June of 2022.

Lindsey Buckingham Self-Titled Album

Lindsey Buckingham’s self-titled album is slated for release in just a couple of weeks on September 17th. His brand new single “Scream” from that album is available to listen to now. The rocker promoted its official release in a recent tweet. Many fans in the comments compare the backing vocals on Buckingham’s album to the voice of past band member Stevie Nicks. Other Twitter users hop into Buckingham’s mentions to praise him as someone they’ve looked up to for years:

@Watson70sRock writes: “The first three songs are fantastic. When was this album actually recorded? Always a blessing to have new music from you. The older I get, 60 this month, the more I’ve come to appreciate all your solo work. Just outstanding.”
