What some people might not know about Elvis Presley is that he was quite the car collector. As soon as you step foot on the Graceland property, the Presley Motors Automobile Museum is one of the first things that can be seen.

In this video, Presley can be seen driving cars, and even motorcycles, from his impressive collection in and out of the Graceland gates.

Accordingly to GQ “the only thing Elvis loved more than music and taking care of business was cars.”

Many cars can be seen in this four-minute video. Some of the most notable ones are the rare vehicles, as well as the ones that Presley drove most often.

Take the 1973 Stutz Blackhawk for instance. The legend was the first to own one of the most expensive cars in the world at the time. In fact, he loved it so much he bought three more throughout the years. It’s also one of the last cars that the “Unchained Melody” singer was seen driving before his death.

Another distinct car in the video is the yellow DeTomaso Pantera. Elvis Presley purchased this sports car for his girlfriend at the time, Linda Thompson. However, it wasn’t a reliable means of transportation. Presley got so mad at it one day, that he pulled out his handgun and shot at it.

Clips of Presley in his Harley Davidson golf cart are in the video as well. He hardly ever played golf, but instead used the cart to get around Graceland.

Elvis Presley, The Gearhead Gifter

Presley used to walk into dealerships and buy several cars at a time. Then he would turn around and give them away. As a matter of fact, the King of Rock and Roll’s car of choice seemed to be a Cadillac. It’s estimated that he had 200 cars in his lifetime and at least 100 of them were Cadillacs.

The Things shares that Presley would just walk into dealerships and buy them by the dozen. One day, he bought 32 Cadillacs and gave them all away in one afternoon. One of Elvis Presley’s most famous automobiles, and perhaps the most famous car in the world, is his pink Cadillac.

The King actually owned two pink Cadillacs. The first one used to transport him and his band, The Blue Moon Boys. In an interview, Elvis Presley described it as the most beautiful car he’d ever seen. “I parked it outside my hotel the day I got it and stayed up all night just looking at it,” he said. “The next day, it caught fire and burned up on the road.”

Presley was so upset and in love with the car that he went back to the dealership and ordered a brand-new Fleetwood 60. However, it was blue with a black roof, but the King had it painted “Elvis Rose.” Then he gave it to his mother as a gift, even though she couldn’t drive, nor had a driver’s license.
