Is there anything Sam Elliot can’t do? In 2015, the rugged actor stopped by RedEye Chicago to discuss his new movie at the time, Grandma.
“My apologies to Taylor Swift,” he said to the camera, before questioning the legalities of the event. “Are you going to get sued by her? Am I. You could care less about that.”
It’s more likely he’ll be given a shoutout by Swift than it is he’ll be served papers by the megastar. Of course, Elliott’s rendition of “Bad Blood” put a new cowboy-esque spin on the catchy pop song.
In his signature deep tone, the white-haired heartthrob brought her “Bad Blood” lyrics to life one word at a time.
Sam Elliot Puts Rugged Spin On Lady Gaga Song
This isn’t the first time the actor has been asked to recite a pop singer’s lyrics. During an appearance on a late-night talk show, Elliot repeated Lady Gaga’s lyrics— and the result is hilarious.
Both Elliot and Lady Gaga co-starred together in A Star Is Born alongside Academy Award-nominated actor Bradley Cooper.
The movie got rave reviews after it opened. The film’s songwriting was led by Lukas Nelson, Dave Cobb, and Jason Isbell. Cooper and Lady Gaga also worked on writing a few songs for the soundtrack.
To promote the movie, Elliott appeared on “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert” and Colbert asked him if he would be willing to put his legendary voice to some of Lady Gaga’s lyrics.
Of course, he couldn’t say no and recited lyrics from some of her hits such as “Born This Way,” Poker Face,” and “Bad Romance.”
The way he read the lyrics, “Rah rah, ah ah ah. Ro ma, ro ma ma, Gaga, oh lala,” captured the attention of everyone in the audience, making sure to raise his eyebrows during his delivery.
