New Trailer for ‘Those Who Wish Me Dead’

Now, New Line Cinema has released the trailer for the thriller starring Angelina Jolie. It will release on May 14, 2021. “Those Who Wish Me Dead” will premiere in theaters and on HBO Max.

Viewers can get a first look at action-star Angelina Jolie playing a firefighter bad-ass with some emotional baggage. The trailer starts with a sweeping view of the mountains.

Jolie’s character, Hannah, deals with a past mission with a tragic ending. It left several dead when she “read the wind wrong.” In the midst of her grief, Jolie spots a kid on the run.

Finn Little plays the young kid (known for “Reckoning”). Also appearing in the film are Nicholas Hoult (“X-Men” films), Aiden Gillen (“Game of Thrones”), Tyler Perry (“Vice” and “Gone Girl”), as well as Medina Senghore (Happy!).

The two team up as the boy is on the run. He witnessed two assassins murder someone right in front of him. Suddenly, an action-packed fight to escape and hide in the wilderness ensues.

It becomes even more hot and intense when the assassins start a forest fire. Suddenly, it’s a race to escape murder and impending doom from the fire.

According to Entertainment Weekly, Jolie shared that Sheridan bought a huge fake forest to then carefully burn to the ground. Jolie met with real firefighters to get a grasp of how to safely conquer her scenes.

“The first day we were in the fire, [I noticed] the heat and how quickly the winds would change and how quickly the fire would suddenly take to a tree that you weren’t expecting. Our respect just [grows] day after day for these people on the front lines and how difficult this work is,” Jolie said.

Angelina Jolie also shared that she was excited to work on the “emotional film.” While action-packed and thrilling, the picture also tells an emotional tale of survival and trust.

Besides the role, Jolie will also be directing a biopic about Don McCullin. Tom Hardy will be portraying him on the screen. McCullin is one of the most popular photographers for contemporary war and poverty. It’s based on his autobiography, “Unreasonable Behaviour.”

“I was drawn to his unique combination of fearlessness and humanity – his absolute commitment to witnessing the truth of war, and his empathy and respect for those who suffer its consequences. We hope to make a film that is as uncompromising as Don’s photography, about the extraordinary people and events he witnessed, and the rise and fall of a unique era in journalism,” Jolie said to The Guardian.
