This Wheel of Fortune contestant made an unlikely comparison to Kevin Costner’s film “Field of Dreams” in her interview response.
When you think of Kevin Costner’s hit 1989 film “Field of Dreams,” you probably think of baseball or Iowa cornfields, but nope! Not this time.
Yesterday, the Wheel of Fortune social media accounts posted a video of a contestant that said her butterfly farm was similar to the “Field of Dreams.”
“You raise butterflies?” asks Wheel of Fortune host Pat Sajak.
“I do!” states the contestant named Alyson.
“I didn’t know you could do that,” admits Sajak. “How do you?”
“Yes! You buy the milkweed, and it’s kind of like ‘Field of Dreams.’ If you plant it, they will come,” says Alyson in reference to the movie. “So far, I’ve released over 60 butterflies in the last two years.”
“Do you take them out on little leashes and go?” jokes Sajak. “I mean, how does that work?”
“They just, they sit on your shoulder, and you put them on a little plant until they fly away.”
“Well, that’s really… that’s very kind of sweet,” the popular game show host quietly says.
“I feel so much better about life right now!” smiles the Wheel of Fortune host.
“It’s very rewarding,” Alyson laughs.
Umm, can we come to your farm and just frolic around? That sounds peaceful and stress relieving!
“Did Alyson say she raises butterflies?!”
Wheel of Fortune Contestant Isn’t Messing Around
But raising butterflies isn’t the only thing Alyson had to brag about. In the Wheel of Fortune Bonus Round, Alyson didn’t miss a beat, yelling out her letter picks.
“C, D, G, and A”
“You want to think about that some?” jokes Sajak.
She is rewarded with many spaces that Wheel of Fortune co-host Vanna White begins to turn.
“A _ _ _ D _ NG T_E CR_ _DS.”
Again, Alyson quickly solves the puzzle. A hint for the round is, “What are you doing?” Can you figure it out?
The answer is “Avoiding the crowds,” and Pat Sajak reveals that Alyson won a Nissan Rogue and $55,825. The elated Wheel of Fortune contestant cheers as she runs to her new vehicle and waves from the passenger seat.
Sheesh! Not a bad night for her or the butterflies, who are going to be well fed after that hefty paycheck.
“Alyson picked her letters quickly and solved the puzzle just as fast!”
