Fans went nuts after “Wheel Of Fortune” co-host Vanna White snapped a selfie with another network television star. On Thursday, longstanding investor/shark Robert Herjavec from ABC’s “Shark Tank,” posted a cheeky selfie alongside White.
After they snapped the pic, Herjavec joined the other celebrity contestants on stage for the beloved game show’s celebrity edition. During last night’s episode, Chris Harrison, Robert Herjavec, and Alfonso Ribeiro gave it their all in hopes of winning the most money. In the end, Herjavec won $31,00 for the Seattle Union Gospel Mission.
Each week “Celebrity Wheel of Fortune” invites celebrities for a chance to win up to $1 million for their charity. The new spin on the show has welcomed stars such as Maria Menounos, Jennie Garth, and Yvette Nicole Brown.
Some Fans Outraged Over Chris Harrison’s Appearance on ‘Wheel Of Fortune’ Amid Controversy
Fans were also surprised to see Herjavec playing alongside Harrison, who stepped aside from ABC’s “The Bachelor” over racial statements. Despite the controversy, the host attended the game show taping in December to raise money for his charity, Feeding America. The public is also scrutinizing Harrison for an interview he did with Extra reporter Rachel Lindsay. Lindsey was the first Black lead in the popular reality show.
Some have accused Harrison of defending racism after excusing a plantation-themed party a former contestant from the current season attended in 2018. “Is it a good look in 2018 or is it not a good look in 2021?” Harrison asked. “It’s not a good look ever because she’s celebrating the Old South,” Lindsay explained. “If I went to that party, what would I represent at that party?”
“I don’t disagree with you,” Harrison said. “You’re 100 percent right — in 2021. That was not the case in 2018. Again, I’m not defending Rachael. I just know, I don’t know, 50 million people did that in 2018 — that was a type of party that a lot of people went to.” Despite the apology and announcing he was stepping away from the show, some are upset that he would appear on the same network. Following the episode, numerous viewers took to Twitter to voice their disappointment about the network allowing Harrison on “Wheel of Fortune.”
While Harrison’s appearance on the show upset some viewers, he was the most successful contestant, raising $62,650 for his charity.
