Sajak Jokes About Running for President
Meanwhile, on Twitter, Sajak was busy cracking wise and getting reactions from his Twitter followers. His latest observation: now that he’s 75, he’s old enough to run for president.
“Now that I’ve reached 75, and with retirement a couple of years off, I’ll be the perfect age for a presidential run,” Sajak quipped. “Or a wood carving career. Haven’t made up my mind yet.”
Sajak’s followers gamely jumped into his replies. Many of them just straight-up wished him a happy birthday. Others came back with jokes of their own.
“Why not carve a Presidential hopeful?” one Twitter user asked.
“Sure you can afford wood carving?” another tweep replied.
“Ok, you have been on TV since i was 20 (or so) and now I’m 55 and you are 75. How about I say I’m still 25 and you are 40ish,” yet another fan suggested.
But don’t worry, Sajak is not leaving “Wheel of Fortune” imminently, for a presidential run or any other reason. The iconic game show host recently told ET that he and co-host Vanna White have less than a decade left to go on the show, but they’re not leaving tomorrow.
“We’re certainly closer to the end than the beginning,” Sajak told ET. “I’d like to leave before people tune in and look at me and say, ‘Ooh, what happened to him?'”
Both Sajak and White recently signed contracts with “Wheel of Fortune” that run through 2024. Looks like Sajak won’t have time for wood carving anytime soon.
