Pat Sajak and Vanna White have been the hosts of “Wheel of Fortune” since the early 1980s. During that time, they have seen numerous contestants spin their famous wheel.

The vast majority of the contestants on the popular game show have been people who live their life outside of the spotlights of fame and fortune. However, thanks to the new series, “Celebrity Wheel of Fortune,” Sajak and White are now seeing the rich and famous compete against one another.

The first season of the spinoff game show included such names as Tony Hawk, Kevin Nealon, Leslie Jones, Patton Oswalt, Joe Tessitore, Drew Carey, Teri Hatcher, Joel McHale, Paul Reubens, and more. That season aired earlier in 2021.

Joining in on the fun for the second season are a handful of major stars. The list includes Jason Alexander, Tatyana Ali, Anthony Anderson, Tituss Burgess, Cheryl Burke, Brooke Burns, Lacey Chabert, Mario Cantone, Laverne Cox, Marcia Cross, Joey Fatone, Vivica A. Fox, Jeff Garlin, Anthony Michael Hall, Melissa Joan Hart, John Michael Higgins, Vanilla Ice, Tara Lipinski, Loni Love, Von Miller, Michael Mizanin, Wanya Morris, Jason Mraz, Haley Joel Osment, Donny Osmond, James Pickens Jr., Caroline Rhea, Andy Richter, Amber Riley, Tori Spelling, Shawn Stockman, Curtis Stone, Jodie Sweetin, Raven-Symoné, Karl-Anthony Towns, Michelle Trachtenberg, Nia Vardalos, Johnny Weir, and Ali Wentworth.

Pat Sajak Wants an Academy Award-Winning Actress to Appear on ‘Wheel of Fortune’

While Pat Sajak must enjoy having most of these famous people on “Celebrity Wheel of Fortune,” there is one celebrity he wants to see spin the wheel more than any other. It’s not a talented athlete or a clever politician or a respected journalist. According to what Sajak told USA Today, his dream contestant is an Academy Award-winning actress.

That actress is none other than the wildly talented and versatile Meryl Streep. When you think about it, who wouldn’t want to meet the 72-year-old Hollywood icon? Sajak said he would love to see how the acclaimed actress would say one phrase in particular.

“My secret desire is to get Meryl Streep on the show, just because I want to hear her say, ‘Come on, Big Money!’ I think that would be really dramatic,” Pat Sajak also shared.

During her more than 40 years of making films, Streep has been nominated for 21 Academy Awards. She has won three Oscars. Her first win came for her work in “Kramer vs. Kramer” in 1980. Next, she won for “Sophie’s Choice” in 1983. Her third win came in 2012 for “The Iron Lady.”

Sajak, who is 74, and White, who is 64, have reportedly signed on to stay with “Wheel of Fortune” until 2024. So, maybe between now and then, Sajak will get to see Streep on his show.

In the meantime, you can watch Sajak and White welcome other celebrities to the fun of the show. The second season of “Celebrity Wheel of Fortune” is scheduled to premiere on Sunday, Sept. 26, at 8 p.m. (ET) on ABC.
