On Tuesday, Wheel of Fortune host Pat Sajak‘s daughter, Maggie, will be taking over the game show’s Instagram account and chatting with the College Week contestants.
Both Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy! bring in college students to compete on their shows each year. This year, the game show is adding the 26-year-old as a special guest host. Maggie Sajak will be speaking with the university contestants about “all things college and Wheel.”
This isn’t the first time she’s helped out on Wheel of Fortune either. Her father had to leave the show for a short period due to medical issues back in 2019. He underwent emergency intestinal surgery to remove a blockage in November that year. Vanna White took over Sajak’s hosting duties, and Maggie stepped up to perform White’s role on the game show.
Additionally, Maggie made an appearance on the show years earlier. In fact, she was just a toddler at the time. Sajak’s daughter was so young she could barely walk onto the set on her own. Now, she’s all grown up and joining the Wheel of Fortune team for College Week.
Maggie Sajak is taking over the show’s feed tomorrow at 3 p.m. PT on Instagram Live.
‘Wheel of Fortune’: Maggie Sajak’s Country Music Career
Although Maggie hasn’t followed in her father’s footsteps as a game show host, she did get into another career because of her famous dad. At just 16 years old, Maggie put out her first single as a country musician, “First Kiss.”
The Wheel of Fortune host’s daughter made a name for herself in country music while still in high school. Back in 2012, she even came out with a music video for “First Kiss.” Furthermore, her dad showed support for her budding country career when he played the music video on an episode of Wheel of Fortune on her 17th birthday.
Maggie came to love country music through her father. Pat Sajak worked in Nashville, Tennessee as a news anchor before he hosted Wheel of Fortune. While living in “Music City” he fell in love with the genre. Therefore, while growing up, Maggie often heard country music played in their household.
She fell in love with music at an early age and picked up a guitar at just 12 years old. As a self-taught musician, it only took four years for her to produce a lead single. Regardless of her famous dad, that’s still impressive for any teenager.
