When contestants come on Wheel of Fortune, Pat Sajak can make a connection with just about anyone. That’s especially true if they are from Chicago. Sajak looks for any little anecdote to relate back to the contestants. That’s part of his appeal and charm, of course.

Peter came on Wheel and had a good time it seemed. While the host was asking the players questions about themselves, of course, Peter’s hometown of Chicago came up. Sajak is also a Chicago guy, although he has given up the Cubs for the Dodgers in more recent years.

Check out the video below from the Wheel of Fortune Twitter account.

“Originally from Chicago,” Pat Sajak started. “And you worked at Wrigley Field.”

“I was a vendor at Wrigley Field, Pat, a long time ago,” Peter began. “I sold everything. Hardest product was definitely peanuts. There was an 86-year-old peanut vendor and that’s who the fans would buy from. If I came around, they would say, ‘Get out of here. We want the 86-year-old.'”

“I know the guy you’re referring to,” Sajak replied. “Yeah, I grew up there. I went to the games a lot. I know exactly who you mean. Had I known you were there, you know, with all those peanuts, I might have bought one from you.”

Sajak’s baseball credentials are well known. He grew up going to Wrigley Field and cheering for the Chicago Cubs. However, over time, he grew tired of the losing ways of the organization. While the team would go on to win a World Series in 2016, the Wheel of Fortune host has moved his allegiance to the team he lives close to now. The last few years haven’t been too bad for LA Dodgers fans, so he probably doesn’t regret the switch.
