‘Wheel of Fortune’: Pat Sajak Announces On Show That Son Patrick, ‘Dr. Sajak,’ Graduated Medical School

Pat Sajak did a little “parental bragging” on Monday night’s Wheel of Fortune when he announced that his son had finished medical school.

At the end of the show, when he was speaking with Vanna White, Sajak broke the news.

“So, you know my son, Patrick — you’ve known him all his life,” Sajak told White. “Well, he’s made it through medical school, and he is now officially Dr. Sajak, and we are thrilled about that.”

But not one to let a joke go by, Sajak said there was one problem.

“The only troubling part is he insists that I call him Dr. Sajak,” he joked. “No, Lesly and I couldn’t be prouder, and I tried to get him into geriatrics, but he refused. … Anyway, congratulations son.”

Not much is known about Patrick Sajak, as he stays out of the public eye as much as possible, it’s been reported.

Sajak’s daughter, Maggie Sajak, a Princeton University grad went on to study law at Columbia University. Though, she briefly considered attending medical school like her big brother.

Maggie tweeted “So proud of my big brother” once her dad made the announcement.

It’s unclear where Patrick Sajak attended medical school.

‘Wheel Of Fortune’ Host’s Kids Are Very Different

Despite their shared drive to succeed, Maggie and Patrick Sajak — the children of Wheel of Fortune Host Pat Sajak — are very different.

Whereas Patrick avoided the limelight and skirted any pubic attention, Maggie sought it out. For instance, Maggie filled in as letter turner in late 2019 on Wheel of Fortune when her dad was out with a medical emergency. Vanna White took over the show as host until his return.

In April, Maggie Sajak took over the Wheel of Fortune Instagram account to chat with the College Week contestants.

Wheel of Fortune host Pat Sajak‘s daughter, Maggie, took over the game show’s Instagram account to chat with the College Week contestants. Her goal was to give contestants and viewers a behind-the-scenes peek at how the show is produced. It featured interviews and videos from some of the cast and crew.

Maggie Sajak also did a photoshoot with Teen Vogue in 2013. In the interview, she discussed her love of music, and how she learned to play guitar at 12. She briefly considered a career in country music.

“I’ve been singing ever since I can remember,” she told the magazine. “When I started playing guitar, I began taking music more seriously, and it became a real passion for me.”
