Iconic as Pat Sajak is from his 40 years hosting the long-running game show “Wheel of Fortune,” there’s a limit to his celebrity. He recently discovered that not many people were willing to pay $8,000 for a personalized video message.

Well, he doesn’t actually have an active Cameo account. But based on the fees of other big names on the service, even $1,000 sounds steep. The tweet was clearly intended as a joke. And the “Wheel of Fortune” host has been on fire as of late.

It’s the most recent in a series of Twitter jokes that make Sajak out to be an aspiring comedian. He announced a new Netflix series last week, adding that the streaming service just hadn’t offered it to him yet. Before that, he congratulated Mike Richards on the “Jeopardy!” hosting news, letting him know that the “Game Show Host Association meets on Wednesdays at the Oxnard iHop.”

All jokes aside, “Wheel of Fortune” fans took the opportunity to encourage Sajak to start a Cameo account for real. Of course, $8,000 wouldn’t fly. After all, folks need a little money left over to buy some vowels. For reference, someone like “Yellowstone” star Jefferson White, who plays Jimmy Hurdstrom on the hit show, charges only $125 for a personalized video message.

Granted, he’s no Pat Sajak. Even still, the legendary “Wheel of Fortune” host could make a killing filming short shoutouts for fans celebrating birthdays, etc. And he could do it charging a few hundred bucks each. If Twitter is any indication, there’s a serious market for him.

‘Wheel of Fortune’ Fans Chime In on Sajak’s Ridiculous Cameo Fee

To be fair, there’s likely someone out there prepared to pay Pat Sajak’s comical fee for the promise of a birthday wish.

“If you ever do Cameo, let me know, my mother in law loves you and never misses an episode. It would be a great 75th birthday (probably convince brother in laws to go halfies) present if you wished her a Happy Birthday,” a Twitter user replied.

“Just spent my $8k on 32 vowels. Sorry,” a jokester quipped back.

“there’s a joke about selling yourself short in there some where but im too lazy,” another added.

Pat Sajak Chooses a Professional Wrestling Name

A clip that “Wheel of Fortune” posted to its Instagram account recently found Pat Sajak and Vanna White figuring out what their wrestling names should be. One of the contestants was a former professional wrestler. It inspired the longtime hosts to take a page out of his book.

“So, as you probably heard at the beginning of the show Gerren used to be a professional wrestler. And, went under the name of Black Venom,” Sajak told White.

Sajak then suggested a name for Vanna—”Vowel Vixen.” Needless to say, she loved the name. She then asked Pat what his name would be. His response?

“I would be named ‘Eddie,’ probably. Maybe ‘Larry.’ That’s about it. I’m not very dynamic in the ring,” he said.

Maybe his wrestling persona would fetch a higher price on Cameo.
