‘Wheel of Fortune’: Pat Sajak Gets Vanna White to ‘Croak’ Like a Fish in Hilarious Moment

Nothing says a healthy working relationship like being able to “croak” like a fish in front of each other. Pat Sajak and Vanna White, who have worked together for nearly four decades on “Wheel of Fortune,” released a clip of some under-the-sea trivia. This week is “fishing week” on the show.

Sajak shares that lobsters are able to live for up to 20 years. White then shares that fish can actually get a sunburn. She also then excitedly shares that the loudest fish in the sea (that we know of) is the croaker.

When Sajak asks her for a fishy impression, White starts to yell “croak, croak, croak” before eventually apologizing to the audio people.

The studio is decorated with fish and fishing-related decor. Many of the prizes are also related to the outdoors and fishing.

The longtime pair have been through a lot together. According to the “Wheel of Fortune” site, White has appeared in more than 7,000 episodes of the show. Both White and Sajak were inducted into the NAB Broadcasting Hall of Fame as well.

White also launched her own line called “Vanna’s Choice.” This is not a fishing line, although it would fit with this week’s theme, but rather a line of yarn. White has a passion for crocheting and charity. Part of these proceeds goes to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. She also works with the American Cancer Society, Rebuilding Together, Feeding America, American Heart Association, and the Susan G. Komen Foundation.

Pat Sajak and ‘Wheel of Fortune’ Controversy

While Sajak is often in the news for his entertaining banter with White and contestants, there has also been some negative attention directed at him.

On March 27, the “Wheel of Fortune” host made one comment that happened to surprise some viewers. It was a comment that was in typical Sajak humor. iHeart Radio called the comment “suggestive.”

The contestant, Heather, asked for the letter “D” while solving a puzzle. Then Sajak said, “She wants a ‘D,’ and she’s going to get one.” It was a pretty apparent euphemism from the show’s host.

Very few people appear to be upset by this comment, rather just surprised by the direction of Sajak’s humor recently. It did get a slight cackle from a few people in the audience.

Sajak also caused controversy when he appeared to make fun of a contestant’s speech impediment on the show. In fact, many viewers even signed a petition to remove him from “Wheel of Fortune” after this.

However, both Sajak and White do not appear to be going anywhere anytime soon.
