Pat Sajak has been keeping us entertained as the host of the beloved game show “Wheel of Fortune” since 1982. In addition to keeping us glued to our televisions, he’s also the proud father of his 26-year-old daughter, Maggie.

While Maggie may not have pursued a career as a game show host, she’s well on her way to becoming a country music star. For years, Maggie worked to become a successful country singer. In doing so, she’s garnered her own fanbase. Although she may not be as popular as Pat Sajak, she’s made a name for herself in the world of country music.

Pat Sajak couldn’t help but be proud of his daughter when she released her first music video. During a 2012 episode, Sajak showed his support for his daughter when he played Maggie’s “First Kiss” music video. As a result, Maggie would get worldwide exposure as a country music singer.

From early on, Maggie knew that she wanted to be a country music singer. At 12, she first picked up a guitar and taught herself how to play. Just four years later, she dropped her first single, “First Kiss,” at 16.

How Pat Sajak Influenced His Daughter’s Love for Country Music

While some may find it odd that the Delaware native chose country music, Maggie has had quite a successful run. She realized she had a love for country after watching her father develop a passion for it while working as a news anchor in Nashville. Pat Sajak always played country music in the family’s home, and when she was old enough, Maggie decided to pursue her dreams of becoming a country music star.

In addition, Pat Sajak’s daughter once revealed that she found inspiration from several different artists in the country music world. During a 2013 interview with, Sounds Like Nashville, Maggie said she loves listening to artists like Dolly Parton, Tammy Wynette, and Emmylou Harris. As for her biggest music idol and influence, Magie said that Jewel is her all-time favorite.

“I’ve always really liked Jewel’s style. A Jewel song is one of the first I learned to play on guitar.”

Even though Maggie has an evident passion for music, it’s not clear what her future holds. According to Pat Sajak’s youngest child, she’s at a crossroads when it comes to her career. While studying at Princeton University, Maggie got a degree in Pre-Med and has said she hopes to become a doctor. When asked about what she plans to do, she confessed that she hopes to pursue both of her passions.

“Neither one — medicine or country music — is my fall-back plan,” she told CMT in 2013. “I just love them both, so I will keep doing both and see where that takes me. I probably won’t go straight to medical school, I want to be able to focus on my music for a while.”
