‘Wheel of Fortune’: Pat Sajak Reveals the One Celebrity He Wants to See Spin the Wheel

Season 39 of “Wheel of Fortune” is already well underway, and iconic game show duo Pat Sajak and Vanna White have shown no signs of letting up. In fact, it looks like they’ve been busier than ever over the past few seasons. Why? Well, “Celebrity Wheel of Fortune” has finally become a full-fledged show. Pat Sajak saw plenty of famous faces throughout Season 1 in the spring, but ahead of the Season 2 premiere next week, he talked about a specific one he’d love to see on the show.

The celebrity Pat Sajak wants on the show is one that pretty much everyone would like to see. And one that’s kind of difficult to picture in the game show setting. It just so happens to be one of the most respected movie stars of all time. If the “Wheel of Fortune” host had his way, none other than Meryl Streep would be standing before the iconic wheel on that storied stage.

But the legendary actress would be a tough get. She’s been nominated for 21 Academy Awards and has won three of them throughout a nearly 50-year career. Something tells us an appearance on “Celebrity Wheel of Fortune” isn’t at the top of her list. But hey, maybe she happens to be a big fan of Sajak, White, and the long-running game show. All of the winnings on the celebrity version of the show do go to charity, after all.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Pat Sajak explained his reasoning behind choosing “The Devil Wears Prada” star as his dream celebrity.

“I would pick Meryl Streep, because I just want to have Meryl Streep standing there and saying, ‘Come on, big money!’ That’s my dream,” said Sajak.

Vanna White and Pat Sajak Have Become Like Brother and Sister Over Close to 40 Years Together on ‘Wheel of Fortune’

It’s hard to believe that Vanna White’s discovery as the ideal letter-turner and Pat Sajak’s transition from local weatherman to game show host happened nearly 40 years ago. Vanna White has since transcended her role on “Wheel of Fortune” and doesn’t even have to turn the letters anymore physically. Sajak is still keeping audiences entertained with his quick wit and friendly demeanor.

One result of all that time is an unbreakable bond between White and Sajak. The two know each other like the back of their hand.

“We’ve been together for like 38 years and he’s like my brother. He’s funny. I mean, we could finish each other’s sentences if we wanted to. We know each other that well,” White told Entertainment Weekly of her longtime hosting companion.

Given the nature of their work, it’s probably fair to say that they’ve spent more time together than plenty of real siblings out there.
