Wheel of Fortune stars Pat Sajak and Vanna White are living proof that you can look just as good if not even better than you did decades ago. Like a fine wine, the legendary game show duo seems to only get better with age. Though Sajak now sports a silver ‘do and White no longer has her feathered bangs, one thing has remained the same about the pair. They are still the warm and welcoming faces of America’s favorite game show.
With how handsome the Wheel of Fortune pair still looks, it’s hard to believe it’s been nearly 40 years since the start of their working relationship and friendship. The show itself has seen a lot of changes throughout the years – from gameplay to set design to music. But as long as Sajak and White still led the episode, fans didn’t seem to mind the revisions to the show. Time and again, they’ve proven that the host is indeed the most important aspect of a game show.
To commemorate the duo’s longstanding relationship, Wheel of Fortune posted before and after shots of the two on the show’s set. In the first, White stuns in a strappy, sparkling red gown next to a still-brunette Sajak with a matching red tie and pocket square. In the more recent photo, the famous pair pose in front of the show’s brand new set design, White in an equally gorgeous coral dress and Sajak sporting a patterned tie and navy suit. Always polished, the two never seem to take a bad photo.
‘Wheel of Fortune’ Stars Almost Never Fight… Almost
If you’re thinking that White and Sajak look as happy as they did back in 1982 from the recent Instagram photos, you wouldn’t be wrong. The two have an amazing relationship both on-air and off. In fact, according to the famed letter-turner, she and Sajak have only ever had one fight in their 39 years working together on Wheel of Fortune.
“We’ve never had one argument — OK, we had one,” the Wheel of Fortune letter-turner told Drew Barrymore on her talk show.
Perhaps it was about something Sajak said on air that made her upset. Or maybe White was late to filming and Sajak couldn’t stand her tardiness.
Nope. It was about hotdogs – acceptable condiments to put on hotdogs, to be exact.
White explained that she likes ketchup on her hotdogs, while her co-star finds that to be an unacceptable addition to the gourmet ballpark meal.
“‘You do not put ketchup on your hot dog!’” White said, imitating her Wheel of Fortune co-host.
Handheld food toppings aside, Sajak and White are closer than ever and look forward to working with each other each episode. Maybe they just won’t go to any baseball games together.
