March Madness is here, and no, it’s got nothing to do with college basketball. Instead, Vanna White, the world’s most famous letter revealer on “Wheel of Fortune,” is having fans vote for the winner of Vanna’s Dress Madness, which began on March 15.
Now it’s down to the final two, and White is asking “Wheel of Fortune” viewers to pick their favorites.
Say Yes to the Dress
Vanna’s Dress Madness began with four dresses each for spring, summer, fall and winter. The Sweet Sixteen was whittled down to the Elegant Eight, and then four semifinalists. The current championship round pits a sassy spring dress against a stylish winter gown.
Voting continues through Wednesday, March 24, when the winner will be determined.
‘Wheel of Fortune’ Style Icon Vanna White
White joined “Wheel of Fortune” host Pat Sajak in 1983. Despite insisting she’s a jeans-and-t-shirt kind of person in her private life, White has always brought her fashion A-game to the show over her 38 seasons.
That’s thanks in large part, she says, to designers such as Bob Mackie. They’ve created the over 7,000 dresses that she wears only once on the show.
You might think White’s closets are bursting at the seams. Instead, each dress is returned to its designer after she wears it.
White also credits a healthy lifestyle for her long-time glamorous look. Now 64 years old, she says eating salads, staying hydrated with plenty of water and a daily regimen of sit-ups, push-ups and stretching keeps her feeling her best.
The biggest issue over the years? Once she mistakenly wore the same dress twice.
As White recently told Pop Culture: “I don’t know how it got lost in the shuffle because we take a picture of every dress, and we have a list of everything. … I don’t know if the description was different than the other description, but it was the exact same dress.”
Even worse, an eagle-eyed fan was the one who first noticed it.
Thankfully, there’s no chance for any flubs with Vanna’s Dress Madness because it’s the fans from start to finish who are ultimately picking the winner.
