Wheel of Fortune letter-turner and co-hostess, Vanna White, took to social media on Thursday evening to wish her daughter Gigi a happy birthday.
We all know and love Vanna White for the incredible dresses she wears on the popular game show, but not everyone knows her family. White got married back in 1990 to restaurant owner George Santo Pietro. They welcomed their first child and son, Nicholas “Niko”, in 1994. Meanwhile, Vanna White gave birth to her daughter Giovanna “Gigi” three years later in 1997.
And today officially marks the 24th trip around the sun for Vanna White’s second child and only daughter.
“Happy 24th birthday to my amazing, beautiful and talented daughter Gigi! I love you! @familylove” White wrote alongside the photo.
All kinds of fans took to the replies to wish Gigi a happy birthday. Even the official Wheel of Fortune Twitter account took a moment to wish her a happy 24th.
“Happy Birthday, Gigi!” Wheel of Fortune replied.
Who is ‘Wheel of Fortune’ Star’s Daughter?
The now 24-year-old attended NYU’s prestigious Tisch School of the Arts from 2015 to 2019. Since graduating, Gigi has worked as a photographer and even has her own website where she features her incredible work.
While her mom lives her life in the public eye, Giovanna “Gigi” Santo Pietro prefers a more private lifestyle. She stopped updating her public Instagram account in 2016, and since then, another account for a California-based tattoo artist appears to be under her name.
When she was a child, Gigi actually did attend quite a few red carpet events with her high-profile mom. However, she has seemingly made an effort to take a step back from the spotlight in recent years.
On the other hand, however, the son of Wheel of Fortune star Vanna White doesn’t have a problem with being in the public eye. In fact, back in 2013, Niko was 19 years old when he opened up to the National Enquirer about dating a then-38-year-old monk and exploring his sexuality.
Vanna White sat down with Closer Weekly in December of 2019 to talk about her two children and their interests.
“I am of course supportive of whatever they want to do and my son is — he just loves farming and all that stuff. He’s my country boy. And my daughter is a city girl so she’s very much into photography and artsy stuff and writing, so she might do something in photography or magazines,” White said. “She’s not quite sure yet … So got a little bit of both!”
As for the Wheel of Fortune co-hostess herself, fans may recall that she was actually engaged prior to marrying the father of her kids. White got engaged to actor John Gibson in the 1980s. However, John was killed in a tragic plane crash in 1986.
