As Tropical Depression Fred heads toward the Northeast, “Wicked Tuna” captain Dave Marciano offered fans an update from his end.
Marciano was asked on Twitter about what he and his crew were doing in preparation for the storm’s arrival. Take a look at what he said in this social media reply.
“Wicked Tuna” follows the tales of captains like Marciano and their crews going out to catch bluefin tuna. They head out of Gloucester, Mass., and toward the waters of the Atlantic Ocean.
But Marciano and his fellow tuna fishermen aren’t going anywhere while Fred rolls through his area. The tropical depression caused major flooding as it moved through North Carolina.
‘Wicked Tuna’ Understands Life As He Once Knew It Is But A Memory
While we’re talking about Marciano, the “Wicked Tuna” captain understands that his life has changed due to the show.
Marciano talked about it in an interview with Hollywood Soapbox.
“Now I have a publicist and a manager, and all of those things that we talked about work into your formula for the next opportunity that you might have coming down the road — next show deal, appearance deal,” Marciano said.
“I’ll never be just Dave the fisherman again, and part of me was content with that. … Fishing always provided everything we needed,” the “Wicked Tuna” star said. “… Everybody was well fed. There’s a certain amount of pride that goes with that. I was content.”
Those are bygone days in his life and Marciano understands what comes along with the new stardom.
