Wolf Van Halen Offers Support To Mother Valerie Bertinelli After Emotional Video Slamming Critics of Her Weight

Wolf Van Halen came to the defense of his mother Valerie Bertinelli from vicious internet trolls.

People online have been cruelly criticized Berinelli’s weight. The host/actress shared a tearful video questioning why people body shame one another, especially people that they don’t know. She admitted that she was going to delete her Instagram Stories calling out the body shamers. She felt that it was “a little embarrassing and scary” to share such personal and vulnerable parts of herself. But she now wants to own it and not delete it.

“But then I realized it was hitting a ‘good’ nerve with so many of you who were so sweet to [direct message] and share your same vulnerability and struggles,” she continued. “We all could use a little more kindness and patience and grace, because we just never know what someone else is going through.”

Wolf Van Halen quickly came to his mother’s defense in the comments section. It received over 20,000 likes from users.

“You’re perfect the way you are, Ma,” he wrote. “I love you ❤️ (also for no particular reason, what was that f–ker’s @ so I can harass them with memes?)”

In an interview with Today last year, Bertinelli revealed that she always struggled with weight. She recalled a moment in school when one of her teachers spoke about her stomach weight. People also criticized her weight while on One Day at a Time when she was just fifteen. She shared that when she was a spokesperson for Jenny Craig she was constantly trying to shed 20 lbs and keep it off.

Wolf Van Halen Handling Trolls

Wolf Van Halen is no stranger to defending his family against the internet. After the tragic passing of his father, Eddie Van Halen, people shared their uncalled for opinions about him online. He took it in stride and handled it like a pro.

Earlier this summer when one user asked why he was still talking about his own father.

“My favorite thing is when people respond to articles/interviews of me responding to a question someone asked me about my dad, and then say ‘Wow is he ever gonna stop talking about his daddy?’ like I wasn’t just asked a question,” he replied.

Wolf Van Halen clarified that he would not be “taking s–t from social media doofs”. He said that he would answer the occasional question about Eddie as it is his father and he played a major part in music.

The same user continued berating him. They said, “now is usually about the time when you say how much you love your mommy.”

Wolf Van Halen responded by questioning how the worst insult a person can come up with is loving his mother.
