Rock ‘n Roll isn’t a phase, okay, it’s a lifestyle. It’s one Wolf Van Halen knows well. He’s the proud son of the late and legendary Eddie Van Halen, though that connection has given him some trouble since his dad’s passing. Wolf is out trying to do his own thing with his Mammoth WVH band, but Van Halen fans have a lot of gripes with that. They often fire shots at Wolf concerning what he “should” or “shouldn’t” do.
The thing is, Wolf Van Halen knows how to fight back, meeting fire with fire. He refuses to be silenced or “boiled down” in ways he doesn’t see fit. Nothing can stop him from pursuing his craft– not even a gnarly leg injury.
Wolf Van Halen Proves How Metal He Is
Wolf Van Halen tweeted this photo of the boot that’s now joining his wardrobe for quite some time. Don’t let the name fool you. He temporarily changed his display name to “Werewolf Van Hesling” to celebrate the spooky season. Check it out:
Ate shit walking off the bus this morning and sprained the FUCK outta my ankle.— Werewolf Van Helsing 🐺🌙 (@WolfVanHalen) October 20, 2021
Now I gotta rock this boot for 4-6 weeks.
Looks like this boot’s gonna get some show experience.
We’ll seeya tonight, Huntsville. pic.twitter.com/87OGTIn1fC
Apparently, the injury comes from a mishap exiting his tour bus. The sprain means rocking a gray boot for at least 4-6 weeks. He may have taken a tumble, but Wolf Van Halen is nowhere near down for the count. Mammoth WVH is set to rock Huntsville, Alabama tonight before heading to a couple of other US stops to finish out the year. They also planned a short European run for the summer of 2022. For now, the European leg seems to focus exclusively on Germany, with a handful of dates spread throughout the country.
Fans Share Their “Boot Buddies” Stories, Well Wishes, and Recommend Giving Dave Grohl a Call
Fans of Wolf Van Halen and Mammoth WVH were quick to send the rocker a slew of “get well soon’s.” Some also shared their own experiences with “the boot” and Wolf seemed to bond with these fans, affectionately calling them “Boot Brothers.” Others recommended Wolf try out the famous rocker “duck walk” on stage.
A resounding number of fans also recommended giving Dave Grohl a call. The Foo Fighters legend rocked a similar boot on tour once, from the comfort of his very own guitar throne. One fan went out of their way to hilariously photoshop Wolf Van Halen on this majestic seat. The fan also asked Grohl to “hook him up.”
While Grohl hasn’t responded with any plans to share his throne, that doesn’t mean it’s entirely unrealistic. Crazier things have happened… For now, Wolf has a pretty visceral reminder each night to go out and “break a leg.”
