Fans of television’s “Yellowstone” are still buzzing about the explosive final episode of the show’s third season. Some viewers say the finale left the audience with more questions than answers.
One of the most talked about scenes involves the show’s heavy hitters congregating together to discuss business. With the caption, “All the heavy hitters in one room. What could go wrong?” Yellowstone’s twitter account invited fans to view the scene one more time.
The big showdown meeting occurs inside Jamie’s office. Attending are Roarke, Willa, Chief Rainwater, Mo and Angela, the governor, and John and Beth Dutton to decide the fate of Yellowstone. Team Market Equities representatives were also present with the intention of purchasing property for a new airport.
John Dutton, played by Kevin Costner, starts the meeting off by asking Jamie Dutton, played by Wes Bentley, if he planned to “start the day off with a little theater.”
“Just a little,” Jamie replies. He then offers coffee and pastries to family members and dignitaries entering the room. The pleasantries pretty much stop there.
After Roarke finishes his presentation, Jamie noted that it was he who could approve the sale of Yellowstone property and not Beth. His reasoning was that Beth filed “power of attorney” paperwork in Utah and not Montana. Jamie then approved the Yellowstone sale to Market Equities so the Land Commission didn’t condemn the property and bankrupt the Duttons.
As John expressed his displeasure with Jamie’s action, Lynelle chimed in to remind him of the situation at hand.
“There is no choice anymore, John,” she said.
The scene would set the tone for the remainder of the finale that would end on a major cliffhanger.
The immensely popular show drew over 5.2 million viewers for its third season finale, making it the most-watched scripted cable telecast of the year to date, Variety reports. The show was renewed for a fourth season earlier this year.
