Yellowstone star Kevin Costner calls the Golden State of California his home and the Hollywood icon is proud of that fact.

Costner joined tourism site, Visit California, for their California Now podcast to talk all things that make the state the place to be. For the interview, Costner put Yellowstone on the back burner in an attempt to promote his native state as a tourist hot spot. The 66-year-old Academy Award winner makes it no secret that he loves to explore the beauty of California on a regular basis. Among the topics broached on the podcast are Costner’s go-to fast food restaurant and order, along with his favorite spots in California to explore.

Yellowstone Star Kevin Costner ‘Living the Dream’

The interviewer asks the Yellowstone actor to describe his “California dream day” and Costner doesn’t hesitate to name off activities he likes. Costner also makes sure to note that he is “living the California dream.”

“I’m kind of living my dream,” he says to answer the question. “Like I said, I never knew I would have some of the things that I have. I live on the ocean — I wake up to it. I like a really good walk in the morning and then I love seeing my kids head out on their surfboards.”

Costner says he often wonders how his life has turned out the way it has. One thing is for sure and that is the Yellowstone lead man is living his California dream.

“I think to myself, ‘I don’t know what I have done right in life but I did this part right because they have that life in front of them,” he says. “When they were little they spent all their time in the tide pools. Now, they bring their friends over and I can just sit out at the point and watch my children succeed.”

With filing for the fourth season of Yellowstone wrapped up, Costner’s John Dutton will be returning to our televisions this summer. Fans are still reeling over the previous season’s finale that saw John come under attack from unknown assailants. We don’t know his fate heading into season four, but the hope is that the Dutton family patriarch is alive and well.

With season four rapidly approaching and now only six to eight weeks away, fans will soon be getting answers. We can’t wait to see what the fourth season of the modern western drama will bring us.
