On Saturday (October 23rd), a Frontier Airlines aircraft made an emergency landing at Raleigh-Durham International Airport in North Carolina due to an odor-related incident.

A Frontier Airlines spokesperson revealed more details about the situation to Fox News.

“Earlier today, Frontier Airlines Flight 1159 from Norfolk to Orlando experienced a fume/odor event. Out of an abundance of caution, the aircraft diverted to Raleigh-Durham and both passengers and crew exited the aircraft via evacuation slides.”

The Frontier Airlines spokesperson further stated that there were no reported injuries to passengers and crew. There was also no indication of a fire aboard the aircraft.

“All passengers are safely inside the airport terminal. And the airline is in the process of finalizing arrangements to get them to their final destinations.”

The Raleigh-Durham International Airport has not commented about the incident at this time.

Frontier Airlines Pilot Charged With Placing Hiding Camera in College Student’s Window

A Frontier Airlines pilot was charged earlier this week. The pilot has been accused of placing a hiding camera in a college student’s window in Florida.

According to the New York Post, the pilot, Veron Duane Crider, was charged by the University of Central Florida police. Law enforcement has discovered a hidden camera by an unidentified 19-year-old student at The Pointe at Central apartments. The incident occurred on September 20th.

The warrant affidavit obtained by the media outlet reportedly reads, “The lens of the camera was facing her bedroom. The victim believed an individual placed the spy camera outside her bedroom window in order to surreptitiously record her inside her bedroom, where she had a reasonable expectation of privacy.”

The University of Central Florida police further reported that they recovered a mini hidden spy pen camera. The cam had a SIM card with photos of what appeared to be a cockpit of an airplane. It also had images of a hotel room.

Law enforcement officials also stated that the pilot cut a 1-inch hole into the victim’s window screen to hide the camera. It notably has two hours of footage. There does not seem to be a connection between the Frontier pilot and the 19-year-old.

A University of Central Florida police spokesperson reveals that Crider is receiving charges for burglary of an occupied dwelling and attempted video voyeurism. Police manage to arrest Crider on October 5th in Missouri.

Frontier Airlines Responses to Pilot-Camera Incident

A representative from Frontier Airlines did verify to the University of Central Florida police that Crider flew into Orlando International Airport days before the incident. The airline company then confirmed that the pilot was not working and didn’t fly on September 19th or September 20th.

Meanwhile, Frontier Airlines has not shared any more details about Crider.
