The Gabby Petito case has captivated America. Seemingly everyone has their thumb on the pulse of this case. Right now, everyone involved would like to know where Brian Laundrie went. Law enforcement officials across the country have their eyes peeled for Laundrie, a person of interest in Petito’s disappearance and death. Now, the stakes are even higher. The case has caught the eye of John Walsh.

Most remember John Walsh from America’s Most Wanted. However, he has hosted a few shows in the same vein. Walsh helmed The Hunt with John Walsh on CNN. Currently, he hosts In Pursuit with John Walsh. He has a passion for catching crooks and seeing them meet justice. Now, Walsh wants justice for Gabby Petito.

Last night, John Walsh joined Anderson Cooper on CNN’s AC360 to discuss the Gabby Petito case. More specifically, he wanted to talk about the bodycam footage of the couple taken by police in Moab, Utah back in August.

In that footage, authorities pulled Petito and Laundrie over while they were having a heated argument in their van. According to, a 911 caller alerted police to the couple after they saw Laundrie slap, Gabby Petito. Throughout the video, we see a distraught Petito doing her best to explain the events leading up to their traffic stop. Additionally, we see a nonchalant Laundrie trying to play the whole thing off like it was no big deal.

John Walsh says that their interactions show a clear case of domestic violence. He told Anderson Cooper that he watched the video with an FBI agent. What he saw shook him to his core. About the footage, Walsh said, “We looked at it and I said, ‘this girl is terrorized. This is classic abuse.’ He terrorized her not to tell the cops that he was the aggressor.” He added that Gabby Petito was obviously “terrified,” in the bodycam footage.

John Walsh Wants in on the Gabby Petito Case

Brain Laundrie won’t stay hidden for long if John Walsh has his way about it. He told Anderson Cooper, “I’m setting up to catch this dirtbag. This is a homicide.” Walsh went on to say that he had no idea how Laundrie was able to slip away with “the FBI and local cops watching him day and night.”

John Walsh has enlisted the help of his audience to bring in countless felonious fugitives over the years. He intends to do that again with the Gabby Petito case. Walsh told Cooper that he plans to use his Investigation Discovery series to “put the heat on,” Laundrie.

He added, “It’s the public that will solve this case,” he has faith that the public will catch Laundrie and bring him to justice if, in fact, he played a part in Gabby’s death.
