Another interesting reveal in the Gabby Petito case. According to Cassie Laundrie, Brian’s sister, her family isn’t speaking to her. Her parents have apparently not told her anything about her brother.
TMZ is reporting that after a group of protestors arrived at Cassie’s home, she addressed them. She has no idea if her parents are involved in her brother’s disappearance. When speaking with the protestors, she said she has been cooperating with law enforcement as well.
Cassie also claims she has not seen her brother since he disappeared. Last month, Brian Laundrie left his home without his phone or wallet. He allegedly said he was going for a hike and has not been seen since. Cassie made headlines previously when she might have made a contradicting statement. However, the family attorney clarified the statements.
Since Brian went missing, there has been a search all over the southeast for him. Dog the Bounty Hunter has been providing his services as well. The celebrity bounty hunter has said he has received tips about Brian’s whereabouts and passed them along to law enforcement. His appearance down in North Port, Florida even sparked a controversial SNL skit.
As of right now, there hasn’t been much in the search for the person of interest. He does have a federal search warrant for his arrest. That stems from his unauthorized use of a debit card. It is unclear whose card he was using. The latest in the search also includes a hiker claiming to have seen Brian out on the Appalachian Trail. That has not been verified.
Hiker Claims to Have Seen Laundrie in Gabby Petito Case
That hiker on the Appalachian Trail made a 4-minute phone call to 911. During that call, Dennis Davis claims that he saw Laundrie driving a truck. He even stopped and spoke to the person of interest in the Gabby Petito case. According to the call, Laundrie asked the hiker for directions to California, using backroads.
The reason that “Laundrie” gave for asking for those directions was to see his girlfriend. Davis says the man he believed to be Brian Laundrie was also “acting funny.”
While this tip has not been verified, officials are taking everything seriously. There was also a man who claimed to have seen Laundrie in Newnan, Georgia. The police department in Newnan said that they had no evidence of him being in the city.
The search continues without the help of Brian’s parents. They have not told law enforcement about their son’s location. The family has been fairly tight-lipped with the exception of Cassie Laundrie. She has been the most open in the media. Meanwhile, protestors and media wait outside the Laundrie residence hoping to get a word that will help the Gabby Petito case come to an end.
