The reactions to Dog the Bounty Hunter joining the Gabby Petito Case stay mixed, to say the least. Still, it doesn’t look like he’s going anywhere anytime soon. Dog seems full throttle with an end goal of capturing the wanted fugitive, Brian Laundrie.
Actually, he tried paying Brian’s parents a visit Saturday to no avail. Allegedly, after scoping out their house and knocking on the front door, Laundrie’s parents reported his presence to local authorities. Dog took off from the scene in his car, but his investigation continues. In fact, the former bail bondsman just revealed his “hottest lead.”
Dog Says All Signs Point Towards the Appalachian Trail
In a powerful statement, Dog the Bounty Hunter recently opened up about his personal connections to the case. He, too, tragically lost a 22-year-old daughter some time ago. This explains why he takes the case seriously. Actually, he says a large portion of the public asked for his services. Since making his hunt for Brian Laundrie official, his anonymous tip line continues to reel in calls by the minute. After sorting through the tips, the “hottest lead” points to one area in particular. The Sun reports the following statement taken directly from Dog:
“If there’s anywhere out there that looks the hottest, [The Appalachian Trail] could be the area. I think he’s young enough, not an experienced criminal, but what is his greatest experience? Outdoorsman – that’s what he does the best. I don’t think he can shoplift, live on the run, live in cheap hotels. On a one-to-10 he’s probably a six, compared to the outdoorsmen and some of the guys I’ve captured.”
Interestingly, another private investigator, Bill Warner, posited the same thing recently. The Appalachian Trail spans over 2,000 miles between Springer Mountain in Georgia and Mount Katahdin in Maine. If you look at it on a map, it does appear to fall smack dab between Florida and New York. Brian Laundrie has connections to both states. New York marks where he met Gabby Petito back in high school. Florida marks his parent’s house, and technically, his residence, despite disappearing from the area at the beginning of the month.
Dog stresses he wants Brian Laundrie found alive: “Let’s get the kid captured alive. Alive.”
He also adds: “Anyone with information on Laundrie’s whereabouts, call me at 833-TELLDOG” and “all information will be kept confidential.”
