Just a few hours after Florida authorities began looking into a possible trail cam sighting of Gabby Petito’s fiancé Brian Laundrie, the law enforcement officials have officially cleared reports of the sighting.

The Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office stated it has wrapped up an extensive search that took place in the area where the sighting was reported. “No one- and nothing – of note was located. The individual referenced has no known ties to our area.”

As previously reported, the sighting of Gabby Petito’s now missing fiancee comes from Baker, Florida resident Sam Bass. The Floridian stated he spotted the figure on his trail camera. He wrote in a post on Facebook, “I’m not saying this is the guy. But whoever was on my trail camera this morning in Baker, Fl strongly fits the description of Brian Laundrie.”

According to ABC affiliate WEAR-TV, the latest investigation comes just after Monday’s investigation by Mobile Police. A body was found behind a dumpster Monday afternoon. But the city officials have since confirmed that it was not Gabby Petito’s fiancee Laundrie.

Laundrie notably went missing on September 14th after stating he was going to go hiking in Sarasota County’s Carlton Reserve. He never returned home. His parents filed a missing person’s report on September 17th.

On Monday (September 20th) the North Port Police Department announced they were no longer searching Carlton Reserve for Laundrie. The department’s report stated law enforcement agencies are still continuing to search for Laundrie. But the department believes they have exhausted all avenues in searching the Reserve’s grounds.

As the police and world continue to wait for the autopsy results of the body found in Grand Teton National Park, Fox News spoke to those close to Gabby Petito about the kind of person she is.

Gabby Petito’s close friend told the media outlet that she made a mark on anyone she came in contact with. “Even [if] it was a quick interaction. She not only sees the light in everyone but spreads her light with everyone,” the friend stated. The close acquittance also said during their lowest, Gabby would manage to help them keep their chin up.

Gabby Petito’s mother, Nichole Schmidt also told Patch.com that her daughter was a very artistic, creative, and green spirit. The 22-year-old woman wanted to just get on the road and go. “She wanted to see everything and do everything,” her mother recalled.

Schmidt further described Gabby Petito as being healthy and normal with a flair for art. This flair led her to start expressing herself with tattoos and piercings. “She’s just one of those fun kids.”

Gabby’s mother went on to add, “She’s not somebody that could be on her own.”
