On Saturday (October 2nd), Gabby Petito’s mother took to Twitter to express her thoughts about the search for Brian Laundrie. “Mama bear is getting angry! Turn yourself in!” She also tagged Gabby’s father, Joseph Petito, into the post. She also used the hashtags #justiceforgabby and #americasdaughter.
Followers of Gabby Petito’s mother also tweeted their feelings about the whole situation. One user wrote, “All of us other momma bears are right by your side.” While another user shared, “The whole world is angry! The utmost love [and] respect for you, mama.”
Gabby Petito’s Father Praises The Young Woman For Her Influence on the World
Also on Saturday, Gabby Petito’s father tweeted a sweet tribute to his late daughter about her now influence on the world. “She is already saving lives,” he wrote. “So many stories are being sent to us about relationships being left with proper planning for safety. And people are being found due to her influence. We have much more work to do. But it’s a start.”
One Twitter actually tweeted to Gabby Petito’s mother about how Gabby’s story influenced her on leaving an abusive relationship.
“I would love to let you know that your daughter has inspired me to get help to safely leave my abusive relationship of 12 years,” the Twitter user shared. They also said that Gabby is a beacon of light to so many people.
“[Gabby Petito] will continue to inspire many to make massively important changes,” the user added. She also mentioned she is from Wales, UK.
Another Twitter user reflected on their past abusive relationship with Gabby Petito’s father. “I’m not sure if you’ll ever read this, but after your daughter’s case became public I found the courage to leave my narcissistic and abusive relationship. She truly is saving lives continuously.”
Gabby Petito’s Father Sets Up Foundation in Her Honor
During a recent interview with Wink News, Joseph said that the Foundation will be used to help other families find their loved ones. “Everyone deserves the same type of awareness. We are just hoping through our tragedy of losing Gabby, in the future, we can help another family going through this.”
Joesph also told reporters earlier this week that the Foundation is in the formative stages. He also said that the Foundation will work with organizations that helped his family, including the AWARE Foundation and We Help the Missing.
The organization’s first official fundraiser will be held at 89 North Music Venue on October 17th from 1-7 p.m. The Blue Point Fire Department is assisting with the fundraising efforts.
