FBI agents have announced that Brian Laundrie’s Florida home has now been declared a crime scene. The FBI swarmed the Laundrie home Monday morning; removing the missing man’s parents from the house. This is less than one day after a body matching the description of Brian Laundrie’s missing girlfriend, Gabby Petito, was uncovered in a Wyoming area.
At least a dozen agents clad in bulletproof vests were seen descending on the Laundrie’s Florida home early this morning. The FBI approached the North Port home located on Wabasso Avenue Monday morning announcing they were in possession of a search warrant. The officials entered the home via an unlocked door in the front of the home.
Laundrie’s Home Declared A Crime Scene
Brian Laundrie’s parents, Christoper and Roberta Laundrie seemed to be following the directions of the officers. Complying with the orders given that they remove themselves from the Florida home.
Brian Laundrie’s parents entered a black van parked on their property as they left. Agents soon joined the parents inside the van.
Shortly before agents arrived at the Laundrie’s home this morning, North Port Florida Police set up crime scene tape around the Laundrie home.
This breaking news follows the recent announcement that North Port police have now called off a search for Brian Laundrie in a nature preserve near his family’s home.
Brian Laundrie was one of the focus players in the investigation into the whereabouts of his missing girlfriend Gabby Petito who disappeared late last month. Laundrie himself vanished last week during the investigation.
FBI Finds Evidence In Boyfriend’s Home
At least six unmarked FBI vehicles approached the Laundrie home Monday morning.
Federal Agents carried equipment into the Laundrie home. The agents also carried pink evidence envelopes into the Florida crime scene.
The FBI has confirmed this raid in connection to the recent disappearance of Gabby Petito while she and Brian Laundrie were visiting Wyoming’s Bridger-Teton National Forest.
“The FBI is executing a court-authorized search warrant today at the Laundrie residence in North Port, FL relevant to the Gabrielle ‘Gabby’ Petito investigation,” noted a spokesperson within the Federal agency’s Tampa Florida office. “No further details can be provided since this is an active and ongoing investigation.”
It is believed a body that was discovered this weekend in the area is that of the missing woman. The FBI has reported the body is “consistent with the description” of Petito. An autopsy is scheduled for later this week.
Brian Laundrie Is A ‘Person of Interest’
Twenty-three-year-old Brian Laundrie is a person of interest in the disappearance of Gabby Petito earlier this month.
Petito’s family reported the young woman missing after her family lost contact with her while she was on a road trip with Laundrie. The couple was traveling together on a national parks tour in the western area of the country.
After Petito’s parents lost contact with their daughter, Laundrie returned to his Florida home driving alone in the couple’s van.
Brian Laundrie’s parents reported him missing on Friday; after he left headed toward the nearby Carlton Reserve with a backpack. Laundrie’s parents report their son has never returned.
