Gabby Petito’s Father Ripped Laundrie Family Statement Before Potential Remains Were Discovered

On Monday (September 20th), Gabby Petito’s father, Joe Petito, made an appearance on Dr. Phil to discuss his 22-year-old daughter’s disappearance case.

During his interview with Dr. Phil, Gabby Petito father’s heard the statement from the Laundrie family, which reads, “This is understandably an extremely difficult time for both the Petito and Laundrie family. It is our understanding that a search has been organized for Ms. Petito in or near Grand Teton National Park in Wyoming. On behalf of the Laundrie family, it is our hope that the search for Ms. Petito is successful and that Ms. Petito is reunited with her family.”

The family also stated that on the advice of counsel, they are remaining in the background at this point and will have no further comments to give.

Gabby Petito’s Father Breaks Down the Laundrie Family Statement

Gabby Petito’s father broke down the entire statement. “We’re going to start with the opening line. ‘It’s really hard on the Laundrie family and the Petito family.’ Well, my child is nowhere to be found. And I’m not getting any answers as to where to even start.”

Gabby Petito’s father then said for the Laundrie family to not sit there and tell others how difficult it is for them because there are reporters on their lot. Her father sarcastically stated his heart bleeds for the Laundrie family. “Then there was, ‘I want the search to be successful.’ Well, I don’t know about you, but when I want something to be successful, I will partake in help[ing] and make sure it is successful. Not sit in the background.”

Gabby Petito’s father directed his next comment to Brian Laundrie by stating if he loves this person and she’s his fiancée then he should turn around and lead the charge. “Like, I should be number 2. You’re number 1. But he’s sitting there behind his mom like he’s four years old.”

Gabby Petito’s father also brought something he said in a previous interview and he wanted to apologize to Brian Laundrie’s sister, Cassie, for what he said prior to hearing her entire interview on Good Morning America. “So I personally want to apologize to Cassie Laundrie because I heard through that interview that she hasn’t been talking to her brother and she wishes she could help.”

Prior to Dr. Phil’s Monday episode airing, a body that matches a description of his daughter in the Grand Teton National Park. Gabby’s Petito’s fiancee, Brian Laundrie, is still considered a suspect and is missing. He has been missing since September 14th. His parents filed a missing person’s reporting on September 17th. The police have raided the Laundrie home.
