Gabby Petito’s Father Posts Heartbreaking Photo Ahead of Memorial Service

by Jon D. B.

The latest photo of Gabby Petito from her father, Joseph Petito, shows a beautiful young woman with her whole life ahead of her. Yet Joe is now letting the public know of memorial services for his daughter.

“Services for our sweet Gabby will be held at Moloney Funeral Home in Holbrook on Sunday September 26th from 12pm-5pm,” Petito posts to Twitter Friday. “Thank to all for your support and love.”

Within his post, the father shares a simple, yet truly beautiful selfie that Gabby Petito took herself. It’s a sincerely heartbreaking sight, as the 22-year-old should not have left this world when she did.

“Sorry for your loss sir, from one dad to another. I hope and pray you get justice,” replies Jim T.

Follower Jason echoes, offering “On behalf of my family, we are so sorry for your unimaginable loss,” before citing a quote from Jamie Anderson:

“Grief, I’ve learned, is really just love. It’s all the love you want to give, but cannot. All that unspent love gathers up in the corners of your eyes, the lump in your throat, and in that hollow part of your chest. Grief is just love with no place to go.”

“There are no words that can bring comfort to you and your family… The only thing I can say is I’m so terribly sorry for what happened to you beautiful daughter,” offers MockingJay, clearly as struck as the rest of us by this sweet photo of young Gabby Petito.

Brian Laundrie Still Missing as World Mourns Gabby Petito

As of this article, Gabby Petito‘s fiance, Brian Laundrie, remains at large. And her father could not be more furious or (rightly) hurt over the man’s actions.

“I screamed…. I screamed. My wife couldn’t even console me,” Petito told Dr. Phil during their interview from this week. The reaction, he says, came after Brian Laundrie refused to speak to authorities or help locate his daughter in any way.

“I thought the worst. That’s my baby,” Joe continues during the episode. “When did [Brian] get an attorney? Did your parents aid and embed you in a crime? Because [Brian’s] not helping us! I’m not allowed to contact him. I’m not allowed to be anywhere or go anywhere near him. And if I did, all it would do is stop me from the primary focus of finding Gabby. So, I’m doing what I know best: bring my daughter home.”

Tragically, we now know how this search would end: with the body of Gabby Petito found in the remote Bridger-Teton wilderness.

A federal arrest warrant has finally been issued for Gabby Petito’s fiance, Brian Laundrie. His whereabouts are still unknown.
