Gabby Petito’s memorial services are underway in New York right now, Sunday, September 26th. Though the Visitation is open to the public, the funeral home has also provided a live stream link for viewers unable to attend the service in person. All the details to access the stream are below.
Gabby Petito’s Father and Stepfather Speak at Her Service
Ahead of the service, the Moloney Funeral Home uploaded a Memorial video. The video includes clips from the entire span of Gabby’s life after her birth in 1999. Many knew her for her social media presence and travel posts. This outdoorsy persona wasn’t just for Instagram, however. It was actually a big part of her personality. Travel and family really fed her soul.
Gabby Petito’s father and stepfather opened the service by presenting a few words about their daughter. Joseph appreciates the attention his daughter’s case has received and wants her memory to continue to inspire the world. He also gave two powerful pieces of advice.
First: “If there is a trip you want to take – do it now while you have the time.”
Second: “If there is a relationship that might not be the best for you – leave it now.”
A hoard of uniformed first responders also made an appearance, joined by hundreds of community members far and wide.
The funeral home is filled with fresh flowers and glowing candles. Various artwork also decorates the space depicting the late “van life” blogger as an angel. Actually, the image is the same one shared by her father more recently with “America’s daughter” as the caption.
