“Sweet girl, you have become this entire country’s daughter, and we are absolutely devastated with how things ended. May your family find some peace knowing you are no longer in danger and you are safely in the arms of angels … Your beautiful soul lives on.”

While the live stream is only an hour, Petito’s public service is going on from noon to five p.m. at the Moloney Funeral Home in Holbrook, New York. “Thank you all for showing your support for #GabbyPetito. It is humbling to see all of the communities around the country and the world supporting her,” Gabby Petito’s father, Joseph Petito, said in a Facebook post, according to NBC News.

He is also asking that instead of people sending donations, to instead send money to the Future Gabby Petito Foundation. It is through the Johnny Mac Foundation.

Ongoing Case for Gabby Petito

Given the extensive work of law enforcement as well as tips from social media users, Gabby’s body was able to return back home to her family. As her family and community, as well as millions of people around the world, mourn her loss, her investigation remains very much ongoing.

Although her death is officially ruled a homicide, the specific cause of death will come following the complete autopsy. As for suspects, Brian Laundrie remains at the top of the list. The 23-year-old is a person of interest in the case and has an arrest warrant issued. He vanished last week and authorities are currently undergoing a massive manhunt trying to find him.

Additionally, his family claimed that the last time they saw him was when he went hiking at the Carlton Reserve. Teams continue to search the massive 25,000-acre space trying to locate him. None of the charges against him are for the homicide itself. Rather, that arrest warrant is for him using Petito’s debit card and other personal identification numbers for two of her other accounts.

The activities in question occurred after her death and could possibly link him to her murder.
