Gabby Petito’s stepmom shared an emotional message to social media on Christmas Eve. Gabby Petito tragically died in August of this year.

After her disappearance, her case made international news as a search for her fiancé Brian Laundrie ensued. Laundrie was the last person to see Petito alive. The hunt for both Petito and Laundrie went on for weeks. Petito was found dead, and shortly after that, Laundrie went missing. Eventually, Laundrie’s remains were also found. Reports say Laundrie died via suicide

Gabby’s stepmom, Tara Petito shared an emotionally charged message online as the Petito family spends their first Christmas without Gabby. The post reads, “Life is so fragile.  This Christmas tell your loved ones you love them and hold them a little bit tighter because we are not guaranteed a tomorrow.  Miss and love you so much my angel.”

The caption is paired with a screenshot of a poem titled “A Letter From Heaven”. The poem reads:

“When tomorrow starts without me
and I’m not here to see
if the sun should rise and find your
eyes, filled with tears for me.
I wish so much you wouldn’t cry,
the way you did today,
While thinking of the many things,
we didn’t get to say.
I know how much you love me,
as much as I love you,
And each time you think of me,
I know you’ll miss me too.
When tomorrow starts without me,
don’t think we’re far apart,
for every time you think of me,
I’m right there in your heart.”
