Adam Schefter delivered one of his patented Twitter bombs today. Schefter broke the hearts of any NFL fantasy owner of George Kittle and 49ers fans, in general.

Although Schefter did not when the injury occurred, Kittle suffered a broken bone in his foot. Halfway through the NFL season, this news is heartbreaking for football fans as a whole. Adding to the ever-growing CVS receipt of injuries this season, Kittle is the biggest star to go down lately.

As the second-ranked tight end in fantasy this year in PPR, behind only Travis Kelce, this news is devastating. Kittle has been a force this season, however, with only eight weeks remaining in the regular season, this likely ends his year. Unless the 49ers make the playoffs, it is improbable that Kittle will play again.

Twitter Got To Work

In classic fashion, the internet got to work. Using the fashionable Stephen A. Smith meme, PFF poked fun of George Kittle Fantasy owners.

Additionally, Schefter dropped another tweet about the 49ers. Markedly more catastrophic than his previous, Schefter commented on the status of Jimmy Garrapolo. With the snap of a finger, two 49ers stars will be sidelined for the foreseeable future.

Although the 49ers might be mostly confined to wheelchairs and crutches, the team is 4-4. Nevertheless, that record is good enough for fourth place in the tough NFC West. Without two of the team’s superstars, the squad is now in jeopardy of losing a lot more games this year.

Fantasy owners beware, this season is not for the faint of heart. Kittle and Garoppolo going down with injuries marks this as a sour year for the 49ers. Despite the injury, fantasy owners got decent numbers out of Kittle while he was healthy. While no doubt upset with this news, fantasy owners can be happy with what they got out of the two players.
