Fans of Discovery’s Gold Rush and acquaintances of Jesse Goins are taking to social media to express their sadness in the miner’s passing.
Christo Doyle, The Dirt‘s producer, tweeted saying Goins “made the most of his life.” Doyle met Goins during the past season of The Dirt.
Fellow ‘Gold Rush’ stars posted heartfelt messages after hearing the news.
Nathan Clark, dubbed “Gold Rush Nathan” on his social channels, posted to both Twitter and Instagram. In his tweet, Clark spoke highly of the deceased miner saying, “Jesse Goins was the kindest soul you could ever have met.”
In a similar, but lengthier Instagram post, @GoldRushNathan added more images of and praise for Goins. The caption says “the world needs more people like Jesse.” Clark also mentioned his unique nickname for Goins: “leprechaun”. The nickname was given to him for always getting the gold so clean.
Another fellow Gold Rush miner, Casey “KC” Morgan posted to his Instagram a compilation of images of Goins. Many of the images display the pair giving a thumbs-up to the camera. Morgan shared his disbelief in the news, saying, “I still don’t believe your gone as we just were working together yesterday morning.”
TMZ has posted a slideshow of photos from Goins’ time on Gold Rush to their site.
Social media users from all over the world have shared their thoughts, prayers, and condolences. London-based reporter, Abbie Bray, tweeted Wednesday extending her thoughts to the Goins family. She linked her article on the tragedy, posted on Metro, UK online news source, earlier today.
