Gwen Stefani tweeted a new clip from “The Voice” on Tuesday, saying she’s picking country for the rest of her life.
“I chose country,” she tweeted. “@BlakeShelton #TeamGwen #TheVoice.”
In the clip, the coaches are conferring about how to choose between singers.
“My team is so eclectic,” Stefani begins. “They can’t compete with each other because they’re so different. So how do you choose two different styles, you know?”
“If it’s always a tie between talent, then you go with the country artist,” country singer Blake Shelton chimed in.
“Okay,” Stefani said, nodding. “For the rest of my life, I’m gonna pick country.”
The news recently broke that Stefani, 51, is out for Season 20 of “The Voice.” Singer and actor Nick Jonas will be replacing her.
Stefani had just threatened to quit over a tough choice between two talented teens. Shelton helpfully reminded her that she was contractually obligated to choose.
The couple has been racking up wins themselves recently. This past weekend, Shelton nabbed a trophy for the top country artist at the E! People’s Choice Awards, People reported. He went out of his way to thank Stefani in his acceptance speech.
“Wow. This is crazy. This is absolutely insane,” Shelton began. “I’m so happy that we’re able to have this award show in spite of everything.”
He went on to give a shout out to Stefani, who was waiting in the couple’s car while Shelton accepted the award.
“Thank you to my new fiancée, Gwen Stefani,” he said. “That’s S-t-e-f-a-n-i, if you need to Google it to figure out who she is. Thanks for the inspiration and I love you guys, thank you.”
The duo was so slammed with work that they had to celebrate Thanksgiving early in Oklahoma. But according to Hollywood Life, they plan to make a big deal out of Christmas.
