Christie Brinkley turns 67-years-old on Tuesday, Feb. 2. The forever-young supermodel’s career and life are definitely worth a storybook.

Brinkley took the world by storm in the 1970s with her magazine covers. She secured three consecutive years of being on the cover of famed “Sports Illustrated” swimsuit issues from 1979-82. In addition, Brinkley spent 25 years with CoverGirl as a face of the company.

Add in there more than 500 magazine covers to her resume’ and you can see how much Brinkley took the world by storm.

It is reported that Brinkley has a net worth of $80 million.

But her life is one that many dream of having, despite her own setbacks and mistakes along the way.

Christie Brinkley Makes Head-Turning Role In ‘Vacation’

A lot of people also know Brinkley as an actress, most notably appearing in “National Lampoon’s Vacation” as the dream girl of Clark Griswald, played by Chevy Chase. The scenes of her driving that red Ferrari while making goo-goo eyes at Griswald provided a big-screen magic moment.

As for her life beyond the magazines and movies, Brinkley has been married four times. Her most-famous husband was Billy Joel, whom she was married to from 1985-94. She appeared in Joel’s music video for his song “Uptown Girl.” Ironically, Joel had reportedly written that song for his then-girlfriend, supermodel Elle Macpherson. But Brinkley and Joel met on the video’s set, started getting along, and it led to their marriage.

Her other husbands, including Joel, were Jean-Francois Allaux, Richard Taubman, and Peter Halsey Cook.

She has three children from her four marriages: Sailor Lee Brinkley-Cook, Alexa Ray Joel, and Jack Paris Brinkley-Cook.

Christie Brinkley was born in Monroe, Mich., on Feb. 2, 1954.

Brinkley Finds Meaning For Life Through Serving Others

But if you think all Brinkley did is appear on magazine covers and in movies and music videos, then think again. She volunteered her time for organizations like the USO, where she visited U.S. military service members in different countries. For her work with the USO, she received the 2001 Merit Award.

She’s received the Humanitarian Award from the March of Dimes for her charity work, the Merit Award from the Make-A-Wish Foundation, and the Broadway Beacon Award for her performance as Roxie Hart in the musical “Chicago.”

Brinkley is also known for her work around animal rights and supporting environmental causes.

Of course, Brinkley has been honored with numerous other awards throughout her life. She has managed to maintain a youthful look by staying active. She remains quite involved in her children’s lives.

This day, though, is one to remember Christie Brinkley for not only her iconic looks over the years. But she took the role of a supermodel and launched it far beyond magazine covers. She embraced that role, then found other ways to enhance her life and the lives of others.
