Herschel Walker Says Many Public Figures Denouncing Violence in U.S. ‘Don’t Really Mean It’

Former NFL running back Herschel Walker has spoken out saying that many political leaders have given token statements denouncing violence and rioting across America, but have not taken meaningful action.

On Friday night, Walker shared his comments with host Jon Scott of “The Story” on FOX News. Walker responded to reports of the third night of unrest in Louisville after a grand jury decision in the Breonna Taylor case.

“It’s not [a] peaceful [protest] when they say you have got to disperse,” Walker explained. “It means you have got to go home, [but] they didn’t go home. They moved to another place.”

Herschel Walker Calls For ‘Law and Order’ From Governors and Mayors

Walker won the 1982 Heisman Trophy as a junior at the University of Georgia before playing in the NFL for 12 years. Since retiring, Walker has been an outspoken conservative and advocate for the Republican party. Just last month, Walker spoke at the Republican National Convention and is a staunch supporter of President Donald Trump.

“Every governor should be punished who is going to let people be injured because there is not a peaceful protest when you have police officers that were shot earlier,” he said. “We need law and order right now in the United States of America.”

Walker says that all Americans want to live in a peaceful and orderly society, no matter their race. And even though he said he doesn’t like to “call out” political parties, Democrats need to “start doing their job.”

“They say you can denounce violence and the riots,” said Walker. “You can denounce it, but yet you really don’t mean it. If you really mean it, you have to tell the people this is unlawful.”

“It’s time for these governors, it’s time for these mayors to start doing their job or they get sued by the citizens,” Walker continued. “You know, people work hard for their job. And when people are injured, when people are hurt, when people are killed, you need law and order.”

Walker has made numerous headlines recently for his political commentary. Last week, he posted on Twitter that the upcoming elections are the most important in our nation’s history. Walker also spoke out against the Black Lives Matters co-founders calling them “trained Marxists.”
