Yuengling Brewery and Hershey’s are bringing back their popular Chocolate Porter beer collaboration, and this time around the release will be available in all 22 states where Yuengling is sold.
Last week, the return of the popular chocolate-flavored beer was confirmed by both companies. The oldest operating brewery in America and one of the country’s oldest chocolatiers first collaborated on the beer last October. However, the porter was only available on draft in select states where Yuengling was distributed. Beer drinkers loved the porter made by the two Pennsylvania-based companies and now, finally, it’s back by popular demand.
“It was exciting to see the overwhelming responses from fans,” vice president Jennifer Yuengling told Food & Wine. “There were long lines at our Pottsville brewery with fans begging to fill their growlers and consumers searching high and low for where to get their hands on a taste.”
The beer collaboration is, in fact, the first in Hershey’s long history. Of course, the mix of Yuengling’s 200-year-old Dark Brewed Porter paired with Hershey’s famous chocolate gives the beer its distinct flavor. In addition, it took the brewery nearly a year to perfect the recipe for the chocolate porter.
“Both companies bring together more than 300 years of collective experience in their respective crafts,” Ernie Savo, global senior director of licensing and business development at The Hershey Company says. “The Hershey’s Yuengling chocolate porter is made with Hershey’s ingredients, including Hershey’s iconic cocoa and syrup, to create the distinctive flavor that is Hershey’s.”
Additionally, the rerelease of the popular porter follows other exciting news for Yuengling fans in recent weeks. On Sept. 15, the Pennsylvania distillery announced a new production partnership with Miller Coors. The partnership will significantly boost its distribution across the nation.
