Celebrating her 73rd birthday on Monday, former presidential candidate Hillary Clinton has a specific birthday wish.
While many people wish for peace and prosperity on their Birthdays, Clinton wishes for voters to head to the polls on election day. Including a black and white photo from her early years, she also made clear her choice for president.
“It’s my birthday,” she tweets. “Here is my one wish: that you reach out to the one person in your life who may not vote this year and encourage them to turn out for Biden-Harris.”
The former Secretary of State is referring to Democratic Presidential candidate Joe Biden and running mate Kamala Harris. She concludes the birthday tweet with encouragement for America’s voters and a birthday cake emoji.
“All of us have more power than we know,” he says.
Clinton Criticizes President Trump
In addition to using social media to promote the Biden and Harris ticket, Clinton has also tweeted criticism of President Donald Trump. Responding to a Trump tweet criticizing the media for reporting on COVID-19, Clinton questions his handling of the pandemic.
“Over 225,000 Americans are dead in large part because of your incompetence and all you care about is bad press?” she tweets.
Earlier this year she took to Twitter to question the president’s allegiance to the country.
“Donald Trump has repeatedly demonstrated that his first allegiance is not to the United States of America,” she says.
Appearing on a podcast with Journalist Kara Swisher this week, Clinton says the thought of Trump getting a second term is sickening.
“I can’t entertain the idea of him winning, so let’s just preface it by that,” she tell Swisher. “Because it makes me literally sick to my stomach to think we’d have four more year of this abuse and destruction of our institutions, and damaging of our norms and values, and lessening of our leadership.”
